Apogee Deployment Altimeter and Avionics Bay
Replaces your unreliable Delay and Ejection Charge!!
Let's be honest: That delay charge inside your motor is just a crude fuse. There, we said it.
Sometimes they deploy right at apogee. And sometimes...well, you know.

Attach the Slim-Shot to...
~ the top of a 38mm or 54mm Aerotech motor (above) ...or ~ to a bulkhead, centering ring, nosecone base (below). |
Is that cool or what?

Specifications: Dimensions (cannister): 3.25" long, 1.49" wide Weight: 2.68 oz with cannister, electronics and battery. (1/2 oz. for electronics alone with battery) Max Altitude: 15,000 ft. (records altitude - flashing LED) Max G-Load: 30 Battery (not included): 12V (style 23A) |

WARNING: ~ Battery MUST be replaced after each flight. We're not kidding; don't even think of saving 97 cents and reusing the battery! Never -ever - reuse the battery. Flight load not to exceed 30 G forces. e.g., no Warp 9 motors, or other loads with extremely high thrust and short burn times (for max thrust of your reload, see www.thrustcurve.org) Flights should first be simmed with software (e.g., Rocksim) For rough approximation of G-forces, divide max thrust by flight weight of rocket. If over 30 Gs, do not use SLIM-SHOT Example: My first wife wants my Vertical Assault (loaded weight =7.5 lbs) to fly on a K550. Okay to use Slim-Shot? Yes. A K550's max thrust =800 Newton sec (see www.thrustcurve.org). Dividing 800 NS by 4.45 = 180 LBS of max thrust. 180 lbs. of max thrust, divided by 7.5 lbs of rocket weight = 24 G. No problem. Example: My current wife says I should fly my Giant Leap Talon 3 (5.5 lbs@ launch) on an I211. Okay to use Slim-Shot? Yes, the I211 =399.5 Newton sec of max thrust, which is 90 lbs of max thrust (399.5 divided by 4.45 = 90 lbs) 90 lbs of max thrust divided by 5.5 of rocket weight at launch = 16.4 lbs. No problem; she's a sensible women. Example: Now I want to impress my girlfriend by putting a J350 (181 lbs max thrust) in my Firestorm. Ok to use the Slim-Shot? No. A J350 in a 4 lbs rocket can create around 40 Gs. Don't listen to her; she's trouble. Example: I want to impress my OTHER girifriend by launching my Talon 6 on an M1315. Slimshot okay as backup? Yes. The Talon 6 weighs 42 at launch. The M1315 puts out about 520 lbs max. That combo creates around 13 Gs of force. No problem. Dude, youre a love-god; what's your secret? |
